Christmas season

It was indeed a great day yesterday. A nice and warm Chrissy. This year, we finaly managed to spend Christmas as a family; my dad came over to join us for good mid this year as he retired from Brunei. We invited some friends over for Christmas lunch. I'm not sure but on Christmas, people tend to eat a lot..... Anyhow, we (my mum & I), prepared a load of food enough to feed 20+ mouths. There were still ample of food left at the end but good that we can eat those over the next few days (or maybe for a week). Yes, so Christmas is like CNY, as someone has put it; friends and family come together & feast together....

We made roast turkey, turkey breast roast, 2 salads, my famous udon fried noodles ;), chinese/japanese mushrooms style dish, prawns dish. My mum's friend made and brought over sushi & cold rolls. It's super nice loh....
Hmm....what else we had?
For dessert, we made strawberry mini cupcakes & apricot crumble. My mum's friend made & brought mochi & marble cake.
I didn't take many photos of the food as my mum's friends were around the kitchen where the food was placed thus paiseh to take take take photos of the food :D The food was great. Very sumptuous & indulgent i would say..... :)

Everyone left by 5pm and alot of food was still left over. Helped clean up the place & wash some dishes/cups. Now my hands are like super dry and hurts a little. I need to buy the Clinique Body Butter, as I brought only a bit down from Darwin. Adelaide is super dry loh; my skin also super dry now. =.=

REsted for a couple of hour and then I headed over to Des' dinner party...... which was fun....meeting a few people lol. Exchange gifts is a fun thing to do; which basically everyone is supposed to bring a pressie each & place it under the Xmas tree. Then at the end of the night, we all get a number each & then lucky draw the pressies ~ I got a salt & pepper mill. Which is nice. I have some use for it :) **NOw I can grind pepper onto my food like they do for customers at restaurants** ;) .

Came home around 11:30pm and that's my Christmas day 2008! Btw I woke up 7:45am on Xmas Day, NOT to open pressies, but to cook food for lunch. :D I was tired already. The bf called at 12midnight and it's the end of Xmas Day... Think we chatted on the phone for a long time. After that, I fell asleep ~ So, Christmas is over........ we'll have to wait for another year till Christmas....... :)

Oh, and I received alot of choc pressies this year, which is going to be a bummer as I don't wanna gain any more weight ~ hehe, so it'll just have to sit in the kitchen for the mean while and hope somehow either by miracle or something, it'll disappear. Hehee , aiyah, what I meant was by miracle that someone will eat it la, rather than by me. Hahahahaha
