Last day of Term 4 (but not for teachers =.=)

Ok, so I sit here restlessly at work, don't know what else to do. Why? Because at the moment, I am backing up my data from school server to my external hdd. I'm meant to be waiting for the senior management to call me to help them complete entering teachers' edited comments into the system. I was doing that the whole of yesterday and by the end of it, i just felt so blur and stoned.

Since I have completed what I'm supposed to be doing before the end of term (eg complete my reports and sign the final reports, take down posters from my computer labs, arrange files and folders and notes properly, tidying up the computer labs, researching on what I am going to teach next year). I still need to put all chairs and tables aside in the computer labs before Friday but I'll do that tomorrow. Because TODAY is students' (I repeat, STUDENTS) last day at school for the year! BUt teachers still need to be in school until Friday. :) Yay. But technically Friday we're not really working anymore because it's like morning farewells to some staff, an hour of catch up between faculties and then the Christmas lunch :) Thus yea, I just helpedd the senior management to enter in the proofread reports into the system. Ok, I didn't know the process was long and mundane but let me tell you, so much effort and proofreading goes into the reports man. .. I also didn't know until i was helping them enter in edited reports yesterday.

Firstly, all teachers are supposed to write their classes' own reports. Yea? Sounds like the norm. Ok, then when this is done, it gets proofread by another colleague first and then it goes to the Head of Faculty (so eg goes to the Head of Science if you have a science class). After that, with amendments, it gets passed back to the original teacher to be amended in the system. It then gets printed out again and handed back to the Heads of Faculty. Sometimes this process repeats a couple of times. It then gets submitted to the Director of Studies or Deputy Principal to proofread again those and mistakes are found. Those edited ones go to me (yesterday) and I had to re-enter the amended mistakes in the systems. It will then get printed out again to be proofread again by the Director of Studies and a couple of Head of Faculties and then Principal have a read of it. That's when it's the final amendments are made. LONG Process huh? All needs to be done by this arvo, as it's the collation time for teachers; collating all the reports for each individual student into each students' folder. It's supposed to be sent out by end of the week to parents.

Anyhow, I just had a request to help another faculty with using the intranet system...... toodles....
