Emergency number from mobile ~ 112

This may not be of great concern to you, but have you ever wondered what if you can't get to a landline phone to call emergency?? What do you do? Ok, you try calling 000 on your mobile... oooppszz... mobile doesn't allow you to dial 000... THen what do you do??

Okay, if you need to dial for Ambulance via MOBILE, call this number: 112

This number is Australia wide recognised phone number and just tell the operation which state you are in and to what department (Ambulance) you are after. Usually, if you need ambo and police, just ask for ambulance first and tell them the situation and they will dispatch the Police from there.

I did a Red Cross First Aid Training the other day, as it is mandatory in order to work in a schooling environment. I also never knew what to dial from mobile in case of any emergency... Sigh..i have been living here for like 10 years and I still didn't know what number to dial. Lucky for me, I found out on that day of the training. Heeee...

Looking back at all those accidents I've witnessed, some of the adult's handling of the situation is completely way out of what I have learnt. For example.. back when it was my cousin's wedding, this little boy was playing around the hot kettle and managed to knock the pot over his back... immediately, some man carried the little boy out to the carpark (proabbly out to the car to drive him somewhere) while my cousin was lifting his shirt off his back... His skin was peeling with the shirt... The little boy was wailing... If that was the given case now, you are supposed to run the burns under cold water (tap) for at least 10 mins but normally it's 20 mins. While that's happening, you shud really call for help (Ambulance or watever)... and you're not supposed to put butter, oil, etc etc, cream... on the burn cos that will worsen the skin!! Because the wound has been burnt, applying cream or oil or aloevera gel is gonna fry it even more...
