Hello! I misss blogging abit ~ I'm so busy the past week or two that i've been burning midnight oil.. Just caught up on some sleep last nite, but it's all good.
Yesterday I had my 2nd observational visit to my high school. Yesterday it was a more productive day for me ~ I was in 4 classes; Year 11 Business Studies double lesson class, Year 12 Tourism double lesson class, Year 9 SOSE class and Year 10 SOSE class. Noticeably, Year 8 - 10 are the more disruptive students whereas the Year 11-12 seems to manage their behaviour quite well. I started helping the students in Year 12 Tourism class and they were working on their summative assignment, due next week. As I attended each student (there were probably about 20 students in the class working away at their assignments [by the way, this class was in the computer lab], I noticed one girl.....she was not doing ANYTHING at all...computer screen wasn't on, paid no attention watsoever to my mentor teacher AND reading her book. I asked her shouldn't she be doing her assignment and so on... she said to me that she can't be bothered with this class and the only reason she took this subject was becos she wanted to be a full time student this yr (she's repeating Yr 12 this yr) ~ she's only taking 3 subjects but really, she only needed to take 1 subject. But in order for her to be classified as a full time student, she needed to take 3 subjects. She's gonna drop this subject & another one at the end of the year, just before all the assessments go to the Board for moderation of the students' work. She has no intention to go to TAFE or uni ~ which i was quite surprised and also, sad and disappointed at the same time. I just didn't know what to do with her.... tried motivating her to do her assgn ~ i got up to the part of her turning on her computer and Ms Word was open ~ and typed there was "INtroduction". That's it. She waited for a bit (hopefully she thought i can tell her what to write) but as I was only briefed by my mentor during the class about the assgn, i was unsure of what to write as well. She didn't know anything or couldn't be stuffed looking for information for her assgn. Sigh...... yup; so she is a nice girl (I talked to her a while) but a tough kid to persuade and motivate to do anything relating to education. =.=
On Wednesday, I finished rushing 2 of my assigns due then. A major 3000 words critique & a 10mins separate assgn presentation. Yay! All done for that course! Now i have like another 3 more due next week =.=' yes, again, I need to rush those..... oh, and plus 2 minor little reports i need to write up by next Thursday as well....sigh....
Although I'm looking forward to tmr's Rockclimbing ^.^ a little exercise or recreation for me in a long time... I miss playing basketball... why isn't there any basketball courts nearby my place???? except the mawson lakes school or endeavour college -.-'' think those are out of bounds for public...
Anyhow, alrites, catch up with yas l8r. I have another errand to run ~ city time! yay. hahaha
