1st teaching experience

.

Supposedly this post is for my 1st teaching experience. lol.. well, I've been helping students in their class work and that's not exactly teaching.... However, that can be classified as tutoring... and tutoring's about helping students understand what is going on in the class (i'm talking about the subject..). I tutored 2 Year 8s Special Ed students; it's not that they have some kind of intellectual disability, but it's more that their literacy skills are way below their normal Year 8 standard. That's why the Special Ed sessions are dedicated to helping these kids catch up on their basic literacy skills and I've yet to see gifted kids in the Special Ed. Special Ed is not only confined to the underachievers but also to the gifted. BUt the objective here is to have inclusive classroom environment for these kids as well, because they know they are being alienated to the Special Ed class and they don't like that.

Anyhoos I've finished preparing for my double lessons tmr Year 9 SOSE class... of what I'm gonna teach. Hehehe..imagine i gave like a 110mins lecture... Bet all the kids will switch off after first 10 minutes anyhow!! lol.. Each lesson's 55mins... Will basically give them an activity to do, which under normal circumstances, will prolly take me about 2 lessons to finish (finding top 30 cities in Australia being #1 ranked at having the largest population) and then putting it into a table format and creating another table that shows how many of the top 30 cities are in each state and finally drawing a graph depicting the table. Now my teacher has allocated me 3 lessons to finish this activity, but hmm, i'm not sure if the students are able to work to their full potential... Well, I have faith in them completing it, but i'm just worried about their social chit chatting which is the main barrier for them to actually completing them work. =.=''

Hehe, looking forward to it, but yet...scary as hell! lol the mixed emotions...churning tummy and hands cold... signs of nervousness. lol {relax eli.. these are just 14 year old kids!! 8 years difference man! sure u can handle 'em.. } hahaha, yes, that's if I'm not facing 22 of them at the same time~ but they are a lovely bunch.. but yea sometimes they can be overwhelming because when many adds up, it's alot. :)

take care! it's so cooolld outside!! brrrr..
