Day 23

.

I think someone really needs to grow up. PROFESSIONALISM!! PLS look it up in the dictionary!!!! I don't need another student teacher, observing in my classroom, to publicly disses me in front of my student while my teacher/mentor is outside, telling me "Elizabeth, you should control your class" "You should yell at them". I am fedup (this is her second time undercutting my authority as a teacher, in front of students). WTF. This time, she said it in a loud voice from the back of the room. My mentor doesn't even undermine my authority like that! What the hell does she think she is? Her practices aren't that great anyways so why does she glorify herself by making me look bad in front of students? To top it off, she starts yelling at my students =.= WTH?? I haven't even start yelling at my students and here she is overtaking my class? She started yelling a student to sit properly on his chair. He just looked at her and didn't sit properly. I think she gave him a warning about detention if he didn't sit properly. Then he started to say "Why?" ...... "You're not my...." he didn't finish the sentence as we were interrupted by something {my mentor coming back or something}. But i think he wanted to say "you are not my teacher". I was furious at this stage; who was she to take over my class? I don't mind her helping but the way she talked to me in front of them made me sound like the lousiest teacher in the whole wide world and at the same time, glorified herself that she's the best student teacher there is. I would appreciate it if she would tell me later on after class or told me without yelling across the whole room when everyone's silent. Geez, talk about teacher professionalism. I didn't tell her off in front of students anyways, cos I know it's bad to do that. And that's what I don't want to do - the way she treated me.

She started talking to her favourite students (she has some of them in her esl class) and i can see she's looking at the assignment sheet. So i iddn't bother. So when i hear them (4 of my students and her) talking about something else, I told her in a loud voice, so that everyone can hear, "Are you disturbing my students? (with a smile - the same way she did to me)". She said no..... just helping. hehe. 5 minutes later i think, she left the class. I know why she left the class; because it is bored; she always tell me it is bored to observe in other classes; she would walk out not even 5 minutes into the lesson and say later that the class was boring so she's not going to observe. What an attitude. As a professional educator to-be, it is important to know how to build relationships PROPERLY, not by crook. I suppose this is what you call bitchiness huh... I know my weakness now ~ too patient till students take advantage of my patience with their assignment datelines.

She really irritated me; should she try to act more mature than me? But no, she talks about staff and students being hot and which one could be my bf and hers. OMGosh... =.= makes me feel so embarrassed when she does say things like that. On Monday she made me feel bad as well; she kinda said "don't embarrass us" when we were having staff meeting and a teacher said who has the attendance sheet with ID on it and i had one so i said "is it this one?" she said "oh, no, not that one; the one with all the IDs on it". Then she nudged me and laughing sheepishly, "Elizabeth, pls dun embarrass us" (us = us student teachers, as we were sitting on one table). WTF la. PLS la... grow up.. how to be a teacher when you behave like one of hte students???? =.=

I was completing my IT report with my IT mentor today. We went through what needed to be completed in each section; the report only allows space for constructive criticisms. I realised by the end of today what my real weaknesses are. That is something I need to improve for my next and final prac next semester next year.

Despite being my friend, she should jolly well know not to put colleagues down IN FRONT of students (she can do it if it wasn't in front of them). Many things she does are inappropriate; always wrong place wrong time wrong actions/words come out. HAIH.

Before she intruded in my lesson, the lesson before (or after lunch), my Year 8s were a bunch of monkeys. Literally, i don't know what the heck is wrong with today. They were all acting stupid. A few sweared at each other. I had one boy making a verbal abuse about his mother - directly to another student. I heard that just as i was gonna write on the board. OMGosh, that was a BIG bell when i heard. I took the boy and the other boy, whom they were arguing before which lead the boy makng that boy. He literally had his eyes filled with tears when i told him to come out the class with me. I never took students out of the class to talk to before. I was very dismayed at his behaviour. I told him that what he said was wrong. Man! i shoulda asked him to apologise to the other boy! oh well. Anyways, back to waht i was saying..... i told him it is a serious offence to verbally abuse at another student. It was a very degrading put down comment about another boy's mother. I gave him a detention and he said he already have a full detention tmr (they either get a half detention or full detention, half being severe but full detention is even more severe). I left it at that. I told my mentor later on after class about what happened. She had a word to him as well. I think I might talk to the Year 8 Level Manager tmr about this and see what he'll do. I don't want to get that boy in trouble but his actions are really despicable. He is a nice boy but mischievious; i've worked with him before in Term 2 till now. Speaking to the Year 8 Level Manager will mean that the boy might be suspended or expelled. But I will have to inform the Year 8 Level Manager so that he knows what's happening. But i have written on the detention form what he said exactly to another student.

WHy does my prac have to end like this??? =.=
