Day 24

Today I found out that the boy whom I gave detention for verbal abuse to another student, had a day suspended. It’s what’s called internal suspension. He is suspended but he still comes to school but stays in the Focus Room all day. The next offence can lead him to external suspension for 2-3days, depending on how severe the offence is.

Now I truly know the feeling of marking assignments that were due weeks ago. Some students are only handing their assignments in NOW, which is way over their datelines. So this is an area I need to work on for my next prac – be firm and strict about due dates.
